Step by step

  1. In the Instagram app open Settings, then Account type and tools, and switch to a professional account. It is free.
  2. Link the account to your Facebook Page from the Page's settings, under Linked accounts.
  3. In Postia press Add account and pick Facebook & Instagram.
  4. Approve it in the tab that opened, then pick what to keep.

If something goes wrong, the form shows the network's own answer in words, and nothing is saved until the connection works.

Questions about Instagram

Does Instagram work with a personal account?

No. Instagram only lets an app publish to a professional account, business or creator, linked to a Facebook Page. That is Instagram's rule rather than ours, and it applies to every tool that posts there.

Why did Instagram refuse a post that Telegram accepted?

Instagram has no text-only post. A post going there needs at least one image, while Telegram is happy with words alone.

This is why one post can be published on one network and fail on another — the same text, two sets of rules. Postia warns you in the composer before you send, and afterwards each destination is listed with what happened to it.

My Instagram account did not appear after connecting.

It came without the Page it is linked to. Check the link under Linked accounts in the Page's settings, then connect Facebook in Postia again. The Instagram account now comes with the Page.

A post says "Partly failed". What does that mean?

It reached some of its channels and not others. Open the post: every destination is listed with what happened to it, and a failed one carries the network's own error message.

Nothing is retried behind your back. Fix the cause, then send the post again to the channels that missed it.
