Step by step

  1. In Bluesky open Settings, then Privacy and security, then App passwords.
  2. Add one called Postia and copy it. It looks like xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx.
  3. In Postia press Add account, pick Bluesky, type your handle, such as you.bsky.social, and paste the app password.

If something goes wrong, the form shows the network's own answer in words, and nothing is saved until the connection works.

The app password can be revoked in Bluesky at any time without touching your own.

How long can a Bluesky post be?

Up to 300 characters of plain text, with or without pictures.

A post says "Partly failed". What does that mean?

It reached some of its channels and not others. Open the post: every destination is listed with what happened to it, and a failed one carries the network's own error message.

Nothing is retried behind your back. Fix the cause, then send the post again to the channels that missed it.
