Postia/Autoposting rules

Cross-posting, set up once

Name the channel to watch and the channels it feeds. From then on every new post in it goes on to the others by itself, even one typed straight into Telegram or published in WordPress.

Step by step

  1. Open the Accounts screen and press Add account.
  2. Pick the network.
  3. Either approve Postia in the tab that opens, or paste the token or address that network asks for. The form says where to find it.
  4. The channel appears on the Accounts screen and can be picked in the composer straight away.

Each network has its own page, with what it asks for, the steps to connect it and the answers to what goes wrong. All the guides.

What does an autopost rule do?

A rule is a standing link between channels, set up under Autopost → Rules. You name one channel to watch and the channels it feeds, and from then on whatever appears in the watched one is sent to the others on its own.

The post does not have to come from Postia. Someone typing straight into the Telegram channel, or pressing Publish in WordPress, sets the same thing off.

Between two Telegram channels a rule can forward the original instead of sending a copy, and any rule can add a line linking back to the original.

Which channels can an autopost rule watch?

Telegram channels, WordPress sites, Facebook pages, Instagram, Threads, X, YouTube, Pinterest boards, Mastodon, Bluesky, Blogger, Ghost and DEV can be watched. LinkedIn, TikTok, Discord, Medium and Shopify cannot: they do not let an app read what an account has posted, so there is nothing for Postia to see.

Telegram and WordPress tell Postia the moment something is posted. The others are checked every few minutes, so a post from them goes on a little later.

Questions

Something was posted in the watched channel and nothing came out.

Open the rule and read its history. Every post seen in the channel is listed with what became of it, including the ones where nothing was supposed to happen.

  1. "Posted from Postia" — Postia put it there in the first place. Sending it on again is the loop the rule exists to avoid.
  2. "Older than the rule" — it was already in the channel when the rule was saved. A rule never goes back over what it missed.
  3. "Nothing to send" — no text and nothing Postia can carry: a poll, a service message, a bare sticker, a video on its own.
  4. "Not allowed" — the plan does not include autoposting, or the month's posts are spent.
Can a Telegram channel feed my other networks by itself?

Yes. An autopost rule can watch it and send what appears there on to your other channels.

Telegram tells Postia the moment something is posted, so it goes on at once. Between two Telegram channels a rule can forward the original instead of sending a copy.

Leave the bot an administrator of the channel — it stops seeing posts the moment it is removed.
